Genealogy Day 2014 Oslo

Administrators from the Norway DNA Project will be present at Genealogy Day in Oslo, Saturday 25. October 10:00-16:00.  As usual the event is held at the National Archives in Sogn, Oslo. We are one of several exhibitors, and we can be contacted througout the arrangment for assistance with DNA genealogy. More information will follow at the webpages at DIS Norge genealogical association.

mtDNA and Research

Have you done the Full Mitochondrial Sequence (FMS)? Are you still “just” H, V, T2 – or other udefined groups? Maybe no one has done any research on just your specific mtDNA mutations yet. For the scientists to evaluate all possible SNPs found in your sequence and define new haplogroups/subclades, they need access to more data. These webpages are primarily in Norwegian. Almost all information about DNA-testing on the internet is in English already, and these pages were created to cover the need for information in Norwegian. We will however translate the most important material into English as well; for the remaining pages, please use Google translate or other tools.
